'This is a genuinely historic moment for sport in Australia and Seven is incredibly proud to bring the first ever NFL game being played in Australia live and free to audiences right across the country. 'To have two of the NFL's biggest franchises, the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers, playing off at the MCG in front of Australian fans is truly special, and we're excited to showcase every moment across Seven and 7plus Sport. 'With an incredible line-up of talent, exclusive access and some of the biggest names from the NFL involved in our coverage, this will be much more than just a game. It will be a major sporting event and a celebration of the NFL's growth in Australia.' The network will also use the lead-up to the game for a special edition of The Agenda Setters – NFL, airing live and free on 7mate and 7plus Sport from 7.30pm. Hosted by Nick Riewoldt, with panellists Ben Graham and Josh Jenkins, the program will preview the 49ers v Ramscontest, covering the key match-ups, storylines and players ahead of the following morning's game. The NFL Melbourne Game forms part of Seven and 7plus Sport's broader coverage of the 2026 NFL season, which the network says will include selected weekly matches, the playoffs and the Super Bowl. Seven is also expanding its dedicated NFL Tailgate program to twice a week during the season. The revised schedule will include a Friday preview program covering news, analysis and highlights from around the league, followed by a Monday morning review show. The Melbourne fixture will put the spotlight on one of the NFL's established rivalries, with the 49ers and Rams meeting on Australian soil for the league's first regular-season game in the country.
