Joanne E. McGrevy

In loving memory of Joanne E. McGrevy, who touched the lives of many with her warmth and kindness, we sadly announce her unexpected passing on August 31, 2026. Born on August 13, 1955, in Brockton, Massachusetts, Joanne was the beloved daughter of the late Marguerite T. (Moore) and Robert E. Cushman. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Dennis McGrevy, whom she married on May 26, 1990, and remained the love of her life until his passing from cancer. Joanne, affectionately known as Jojo, grew up in a loving family and was the cherished sister of Diane and Robert Carr of Plymouth Ma, Susan and Peter Soroka of Middleboro Ma, Robert and Sharon Cushman of E Falmouth Ma, Sandra and Robert Haggerty Cape Coral Fl, Richard and Nancy Cushman of Plymouth Ma, and Paul and Paula Cushman of E Falmouth Ma. She was also a treasured aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews who adored her deeply and she treated them like her own children. In 1974, Joanne proudly joined the United States Air Force, serving as a medical service specialist until 1978. Her military career was marked by her passion for travel and her dedication to caring for others. After her service, she pursued her passion for nursing, earning her LPN and continuing her vocation of helping those in need for many years. Jojo was known for her compassion and generosity, always ready to lend a helping hand. Her kindness left an indelible mark on everyone she met. Joanne had a zest for life, which was evident in her love for shopping, scrapbooking, and spending time with her family. She delighted in finding great bargains and sharing her finds with enthusiasm. Joanne was predeceased by her grandparents, Hugh J. and Florida Moore, as well as Frederick and Mabel Cushman. Also predeceased by her beloved niece Colleen Soroka. Her family finds comfort in knowing she is reunited with her loved ones in peace. A service to honor Joanne's life will be held on September 9, 2026, visiting hours are from 9 until 11 AM followed by service at 11 AM in the O'Neill Funeral Home, 59 Peirce Street (corner of School Street) Middleboro. Immediately following the service we will travel to the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne for a committal service and rendering of Military Honors. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of their choice in memory of Joanne. Joanne's legacy of love, service, and kindness will forever be cherished by all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace.
