LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Investigators are looking into the cause of a house fire that resulted in the deaths of eight pets in Lafayette. The fire was reported around 1:15 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, in the 700 block of Park Avenue, near Main and Kossuth streets. Responding Lafayette Fire Department crews found fire in the kitchen of a home and worked to knock it down. The owner made it out uninjured, but three dogs and five cats died in the fire, officials said.
