MLB World Series projections are beginning to take shape, and according to updated odds from Kalshi Sports, the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees remain the most likely matchup for the Fall Classic.
Kalshi gives the Dodgers and Yankees a 12 percent chance of meeting in the World Series, putting the two historic franchises at the top of the list with less than a month remaining in the regular season. Both teams also appear in several other potential matchups as the odds decrease.
The Dodgers have been the dominant force in baseball over the past two seasons, reaching the World Series in both 2024 and 2025 and winning each championship. Their 2025 victory included a dramatic extra-inning finish in Game 7 against the Toronto Blue Jays. Los Angeles has now appeared in five World Series since 2017.
The Yankees last reached the Fall Classic in 2024, when they fell to the Dodgers.

The Tampa Bay Rays and Milwaukee Brewers each appear three times among Kalshi Sports' nine most likely World Series scenarios, highlighting two teams that could emerge as intriguing postseason contenders.
Tampa Bay last reached the World Series in 2020, when the Rays also faced the Dodgers and ultimately lost the championship series. Their repeated appearance in the projection reflects the possibility of another deep postseason run.
Milwaukee, meanwhile, is still searching for its first World Series championship. The Brewers have made the Fall Classic just once in franchise history, reaching the 1982 World Series before losing to the St. Louis Cardinals in seven games.

The Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox round out the teams represented in Kalshi Sports' nine most likely World Series scenarios.
With the regular season rapidly approaching its conclusion, the projection offers an early glimpse at which championship matchups could become reality. The Dodgers remain the most familiar name in the field, while the Yankees provide the possibility of another meeting between two of baseball's most recognizable franchises.
However, with postseason baseball still ahead, plenty can change before the World Series arrives. Injuries, late-season form and playoff performances could dramatically reshape the championship picture.
