City to celebrate new MSO Campus with ribbon cutting and public open house

The City of Lawrence invites the community to celebrate a major investment in the people, services and infrastructure that keep Lawrence running. Visit the new Municipal Services & Operations campus, 1840 O'Connell Road, from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, for a ribbon cutting and public open house. The ribbon cutting ceremony will begin at 5 p.m., with City Commissioners, the Mayor, and City leadership joining MSO employees and community members to recognize the opening of the new campus. Following the ceremony, the campus will open for a public open house. Community members will be invited to explore the facility, meet City staff and learn more about the work that happens every day to maintain Lawrence streets, water and wastewater systems, stormwater infrastructure, traffic operations, street maintenance, environmental regulations, and other essential City services. Information about the campus and MSO services will be available throughout the event, along with light refreshments. The MSO Campus represents a major investment in a safer, stronger and more resilient Lawrence. The new facility brings essential City teams together in a modern, centralized environment designed to better support employees, improve coordination and strengthen the services the community relies on every day. The project also advances the City's Strategic Plan goal of a Connected City, with well-maintained, functional and efficient infrastructure, facilities and assets that support the well-being of the community. The City invites residents to come celebrate this milestone, meet the people behind many of Lawrence's essential services and get an inside look at what it takes to keep the City running.
