I actually started writing this report on July 21st of this year. I was watching TV and saw an ad for something called 'Savor St. Bernard'. As in St. Bernard Parish. Remember, instead of counties like other states we have Parishes here in Louisiana. This is a link to the event that was going on back then if you're interested: https://www.stbernardchamber.org/savorstbernard
This place was one of the featured restaurants. I like fish, and I live in a shack, so it appealed to me. I started a draft of this report and saved it so I wouldn't forget about the joint. It only took me two months but today I made it in!
I've actually been in this building before. It used to be a restaurant called Cafe Aquarius. It was a quaint, nice looking little place with good food. I was sorry to see them close.
It's still a quaint, nice looking little place. I was hoping I'd enjoy the food as much as I did the last time I was in here!
The fish is catfish. We ordered a boudin eggroll, onion rings, potato salad, fried catfish on bun dressed and a fried shrimp on bun dressed. Both sandwiches came with fries.

The boudin eggroll was very good. Not a ton of meat in it but the flavor was great and it was nice and cheesy.
The onion rings were outstanding! This is the way I'd make them at home. Seasoned well and just a light batter so you could taste the onion instead of just tasting a thick batter. They were everything onion rings should be!
I was leery when I saw the fries were described as, 'Cajun Fries'. I'm a French fry purist. I hate heavily seasoned fries or worse, some kind of batter coating them.
These were great! Thin cut, fried crisp, and sprinkled lightly with something or other that didn't really interfere with the potato taste.
The potato salad was ok.
I saved the best for last. The sandwiches! They do an excellent job here frying seafood. The fish and shrimp were seasoned and fried perfectly, and the buns were nice and fresh. As far as how they were dressed, I like my sandwiches or poboys dressed with shredded iceberg lettuce. These were dressed with some kind of fancy spring mix. Coincidentally, I was feeling a little bougie at the time, so I didn't mind!
Great lunch here today. I recommend the place!
