RAWALPINDI, Sep 07 (APP):The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on Monday conducted eight operations in various cities across the country and apprehended eight accused, recovering 364.6 kilograms(kg) of narcotics worth over Rs 2.121 billion. During an international drug interdiction, ANF officials at Peshawar Airport recovered 330 grams of ice and 270 grams of heroin from the baggage of a passenger travelling to Jeddah. In an inter-provincial operation near Sangjani Toll Plaza, 52.8 kg of hashish and 5.4 kg of opium were seized from a rickshaw, while two suspects were arrested. During domestic drug interdiction operations, ANF recovered six kg of opium from two suspects riding a motorcycle near Kot Lakhpat, Lahore. Near a mill in Hyderabad, 3.6 kg of hashish were recovered from a passenger travelling in public transport. Near Mandi Mor, Islamabad, 1.2 kg of hashish and one kg of ice were seized from a vehicle, resulting in the arrest of two individuals. In Quetta, 150 kg of heroin were recovered near Western Bypass. In another operation near Shakes, Jamrud, District Khyber, 144 kg of hashish were recovered from a vehicle. At a courier office in Kot Lakhpat, Lahore, 8.4 kg of hashish concealed inside an inverter was recovered. The ANF registered cases under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act (CNSA), 1997.
