ISLAMABAD – Google has appointed Fasieh Mehta as the first head of its Pakistan mission, following the technology company's formal opening of its office in Islamabad on August 18, 2026.
The appointment marks a significant development in Google's growing engagement with Pakistan's technology sector and places a Pakistani professional at the forefront of the company's operations in the country.
Mehta has been a prominent advocate for Pakistan's technology and developer community, working to promote local talent and create opportunities for developers, startups, game studios and digital creators to connect with international markets.
Prior to joining Google, Mehta worked at Epic Games as its representative for Pakistan, where he played a role in promoting the adoption of Unreal Engine across the MENAPT region. He also served as Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at Devsinc, where he was involved in developing major business partnerships and expanding the company's presence in international markets.
Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja congratulated Mehta on his appointment, describing it as an important development in line with Pakistan's ambitions to strengthen its technology ecosystem.
Mehta brings extensive experience of Pakistan's developer and startup landscape to his new position. His professional work has involved close engagement with entrepreneurs, software developers, game developers and freelancers, giving him a broad understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing the country's digital economy.
As the first head of Google's Pakistan mission, Mehta is expected to play a key role in shaping the company's engagement with the country's technology industry. His responsibilities could include supporting local developers, promoting Pakistani digital products internationally, encouraging partnerships and connecting the country's technology community with Google's global platforms and opportunities.
His previous interactions with Google's international offices, including locations in Mountain View, London, Dubai and Singapore, have also given him exposure to the company's global operations.
