Master Changan Motors Limited (MCML) has started local production of the Nevo Hunter REEV 4×4 pickup at its Karachi plant. The company held a line-off ceremony as it prepares to begin customer deliveries. According to MCML, the pickup is fully booked until February 2027. Dedicated Assembly Line Established Changan established a dedicated assembly line for the range-extended electric pickup in less than 90 days. The Hunter is the first model introduced under the company's Nevo brand in Pakistan. The company launched it at Rs10.99 million. Moreover, Changan plans to provide sales and aftersales services through its nationwide dealership network, including dedicated electric vehicle support. Nevo Hunter REEV 4×4 Specifications The pickup combines two electric motors with a petrol engine that generates electricity to extend driving range. Its key specifications include: Specification Details Motor output 240 kW (322 hp) Torque 529 Nm Battery 31.18 kWh LFP Petrol engine 2.0-litre turbocharged 0–100 km/h 7.9 seconds Payload capacity 1,010 kg Towing capacity 2,500 kg DC charging 30–80% in around 30 minutes Why Local Production Matters Local assembly could reduce reliance on fully built imports and create opportunities for Pakistani parts suppliers. It may also help Changan strengthen spare-parts availability and aftersales support. The Hunter combines a ladder-frame chassis with multi-link rear suspension and a 3.3 kW vehicle-to-load system for powering compatible appliances and tools. Delivery Timeline for Buyers Although bookings remain full until February 2027, customers should confirm their individual delivery schedules with authorised dealerships. New buyers should also verify the current price and expected handover date before placing an order.
