Black Hawk was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Southwestern Wildcats.
Southwestern found their leader in freshman Kyra Solverson, who had nine aces and three digs. Ella Roepsch was another key player, getting 13 assists and two aces.
Black Hawk's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Southwestern, the victory snapped their losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 3-12 record.
Looking ahead, Black Hawk will square off against Monticello at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Southwestern, they have already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Pecatonica on the 5th.
