The program is designed for adults who are actively using alcohol or opioids and want to stop, but need medical supervision to safely manage withdrawal symptoms. Community Medical Center says an estimated 79,000 Montanans struggle with substance use disorders. While addiction treatment programs are available in parts of the state, hospital officials say many are intended for people who have already completed detoxification. The new program aims to fill a gap for people who need medical management during the earliest and often most difficult stage of recovery. Community Medical Center CEO Greg Cook is expected to speak during the launch event, along with representatives from Evergreen Healthcare Partners. The event will also include a patient testimonial. The gathering is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 9, at Community Medical Center's Gallagher Room. Refreshments begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by a presentation at 10:45 a.m.
