REVIEW: This New Disney World Pumpkin Treat Is Missing One Thing…Pumpkin

It's officially fall in Disney World (even if the temperatures don't match the month), and that means fall treats are popping up all over the place. We're big fans of trying the new treats all around the resort, and this newest one brought us over to Disney's BoardWalk for a new treat at Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs. Well, it's not entirely new — it's a new version of an existing treat, but should you get the fall version over the classic. Our answer may surprise you! The Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake Fried Hawaiian Rolls are available for $11 at Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs in both Disney World and Disneyland. These are Fried Hawaiian rolls covered in pumpkin spice sugar, topped with cream cheese frosting and pumpkin pie drizzle. Just like the classic version of this snack, you've really gotta love sweets, and this is a great one to share. Our biggest complaint though from not one, but TWO of our reporters? The pumpkin flavor is way to subtle! It certainly looks like there would be a lot of it from the level of orange in the treat, but the cream cheese drizzle and the cinnamon sugar flavors really seemed to drown out the pumpkin. That doesn't mean it tasted bad at all, but for a treat that's supposed to highlight pumpkin, that's the only place it let us down. However, the cinnamon sugar adds a nice crunch and the fried rolls held their crunchy, fried exterior really well. There's lots of icing to dip it in after it falls off the rolls, which is great. We love that there's now a new version for the fall season, but both of our reporters agreed that they prefer the classic version, which is also a dollar cheaper.
