Election Symbols Issued To Candidates For NA-168 Bahawalpur By-Election

The Election Commission has released the list of 20 candidates and allotted them election symbols, while the PPP has withdrawn under a seat-adjustment formula, a report said. ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Sep, 2026) The list of candidates for the by-election in National Assembly constituency NA-168 Bahawalpur-V has been released, with election symbols allotted to all 20 contestants, according to the returning officer. Polling for the by-election in NA-168 will be held on 27 September, the returning officer said. The seat fell vacant following the death of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MNA Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar. The PML-N had nominated Malik Munir Iqbal Channar, the son of the late Iqbal Channar, as its candidate. Under a seat-adjustment formula between the PML-N and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), PPP candidates, including Ali Haider Gilani, son of Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani, withdrew their nomination papers.
