Boxing Competitions Held In Connection With Defense Day

LARKANA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Sep, 2026) On the special directives of Sindh Provincial Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Muhammad Bakhsh Khan Mahar, the District Sports Department Larkana organized boxing competitions at Muhammad Ayub Khuhro Sports Complex, Larkana, in connection with Pakistan Defence Day observed on September 6 on Wednesday. The event was attended by Abdul Nabi Sario, District Attorney (District & Sessions Judge, Larkana), Muhammad Mahfooz Makani, District Sports Officer Larkana, senior sportsman Ikhtiar Ali Jamali and others. Boxing championship were held among different teams of boys and girls. Silva Blue Corner and Silva Red Corner Boxing Clubs also participated in the competitions. In the girls' category, Ghulam Fiza of Silva Blue Corner Boxing Club delivered an outstanding performance and secured first position, while Baby Afroz of Silva Red Corner Boxing Club remained runner-up. Similarly, a boxing competition was also held among boys, in which Aftab Ali and his team represented Red Corner Boxing Club, while Sajjad Ali, Muhammad Zaki and other players participated on behalf of the Blue Corner Boxing Team. As a result, Blue Corner Boxing Club secured first position and won the competition, while Red Corner Boxing Club remained runner-up. After the competitions, trophies and certificates were distributed among the winning and runner-up teams. Certificates were also awarded to the other players who participated in the competitions. Speaking on the occasion, Guest speaker Abdul Nabi Sario, District Attorney Larkana, District Sports Officer Larkana Muhammad Mahfooz Makani and others said that the Sindh Government is making every possible effort to promote sports so that healthy and positive activities can be provided to young people through sports. They further said that Chairman District Council Larkana Ajaz Ahmed Laghari and Mayor Municipal Corporation Larkana Advocate Anwar Ali Luhur take a keen interest in sports, and with their efforts, boxing and other sports competitions will also be organized in Larkana next year. Earlier, the national anthem of Pakistan was played, respected guests were presented with Ajraks and the participating teams were introduced. On the occasion, the participants also raised slogans of 'Pakistan Zindabad' and 'Pak Army Zindabad.' At the conclusion of the programme, shields were also presented to various personalities. Those who received shields included Muhammad Aslam Khokhar, Information Officer Larkana, Abdul Ali Lark, Senior Photographer, Ikhtiar Ali Jamali, Senior Sportsman, Khalil Ahmed Bugti and others.
