Georgia, South Korea discuss Middle Corridor, energy cooperation

Georgia and South Korea have exchanged views on the role of the Middle Corridor and discussed opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation, Report's Georgian bureau informs.Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili met with Song Seog-jun, Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, and members of the committee.The sides discussed the current state of bilateral relations and prospects for developing interparliamentary cooperation.They also reviewed opportunities for cooperation in the energy sector, including Georgia's energy potential, planned hydropower projects and the possibility of attracting Korean investment to those projects.The talks also covered the role of the Middle Corridor in strengthening regional connectivity.Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chair of the Georgian parliament's Foreign Relations Committee, asked the Korean side to consider introducing visa-free travel for Georgian citizens, saying such a move could help develop tourism between the two countries.
