Six local football players across Attala County have been named Statewide Top Performers by Capital Sports MS following their standout performances in Week 3. The honors come after big Friday night wins for Kosciusko, McAdams, and Ethel: Kosciusko High School C.J. Sandifer, RB: Rushed 21 times for 149 yards and three touchdowns to help power the Whippets past Florence, 46-16. L.D. McBride, WR/DB: Hauled in seven receptions for 110 yards and a touchdown on offense while adding an interception on defense in the win over Florence. McAdams High School Andre Brown, QB: Ran nine times for 203 yards and three touchdowns while completing 2-of-3 passes for 25 yards and a score in the Bulldogs' 44-14 victory over West Lowndes. Jayden Young, RB: Powered the McAdams ground attack alongside Brown, carrying the ball 14 times for 193 yards and three touchdowns against West Lowndes. Ethel High School Taylon May, QB: Rushed 21 times for 177 yards and a touchdown while going 9-of-10 passing for 137 yards and a touchdown in the Tigers' 41-6 win over St. Andrew's. Caden Merritt, RB: Carried seven times for 118 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, while adding four catches for 50 yards and a receiving touchdown against St. Andrew's.
