The only surviving infant from the tragic fire at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) nursery has also passed away after battling for her life for 23 days.
The infant died last night while undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), following the PIMS nursery tragedy.
The infant, identified as Aizal, had been receiving treatment in the ICU since the fire at the PIMS nursery. Despite 23 days of medical care, the infant could not survive and succumbed to her condition last night.
She had been the only surviving infant from the nursery fire, making her death the latest devastating development following the tragedy.

During the PIMS nursery fire, Nurse Razia Noreen rescued Aizal from the affected nursery. The nurse managed to bring the infant to safety during the fire, after which Ezel remained under medical treatment at PIMS.
Following Aizal's death, the PIMS Hospital administration handed over her body to her family. The family has taken the infant's body to their hometown of Kotli, Azad Kashmir, where funeral and burial arrangements will be made.
