Pujari Pushes Faster Rollout of Vasundhara Yojana : The Orissa Today

Bhubaneswar: Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari has called for the speedy implementation of the Vasundhara Yojana, a flagship scheme aimed at providing land to homeless families in Odisha. According to official data, the 2024 survey identified 42,915 homeless families, of which 33,082 were found eligible, and 30,653 have already been allotted land. In 2025, 58,620 families were surveyed, with 11,827 deemed eligible and 3,598 receiving land so far. Another 8,229 cases remain pending. In total, over the past two years, 1,01,535 homeless families have been identified, 44,909 declared eligible, and 34,251 allotted land, while 10,658 cases are still awaiting resolution. The Minister acknowledged challenges in land allocation and directed district authorities to expedite pending cases. He also hinted at revisiting the current income eligibility threshold of ₹1 lakh per annum to ensure broader coverage. Pujari emphasized that the scheme is not just about land distribution but about restoring dignity and enabling families to build their own homes.
