Staff from the Chesway Collection are set to tie their boots and climb the tallest mountain in Ireland in aid of a Cork-based Breakthrough Cancer Research.
The Chesway Collection is a family of boutique hotels including The Montenotte Hotel in Cork city and The Wilder Townhouse in Dublin.
The Woodland Suite Experience is also part of their catalogue, which is located on the grounds of The Montenotte Hotel.
Frits Potgleter, Raymond Kelleher, Juan Tudela and Stephen O'Sullivan will embark on the challenging climb on Saturday, September 12, to raise funds for Breakthrough Cancer Research.
Every euro raised will directly to the charity which funds research to improve cancer treatments and increase survival, with a special focus on cancers that are particularly difficult to treat.
Director of Business Development and Communications at aforementioned hotels, Raymond Kelleher, told The Corkman that the fundraiser is a great opportunity to get involved with Breakthrough Cancer Research.
'Breakthrough Cancer Research is out charity partner for the year, and our next initiative includes four team members across the two properties to climb Carrauntoohill with the crew from Breakthrough Cancer Research.
'We started our fundraising a month ago and we are at the halfway mark already – which is amazing and it is great to be involved with the charity,' Mr Kelleher said.
Frits Potgleter, Raymond Kelleher, Juan Tudela and Stephen O'Sullivan will embark on the challenging climb on Saturday, September 12, to raise funds for Breakthrough Cancer Research.
According to their iDonate page, which is titled 'The Montenotte & The Wilder Townhouse's Fundraising Page', the target is to reach €3,000 in donations.
Mr Kelleher cited the importance of fundraising for charities like Breakthrough Cancer Research.
'We had numerous reasons to choose this charity with number one raising money for an originally Cork-based charity, which was very important to us.
'Number two is between our family members or staff members who are either coming out of their cancer battle or currently going through it – all of us have someone that has a connection to cancer,' he said.

Mr Kelleher is a proud Longford man who lives in West Cork and he told The Corkman he is using the picturesque area of Carrigfadda near Clonakilty to get his steps and training done as the climb date approaches.
'I started my training a week ago and I live in Clonakilty and there is a steps-based hill about 15 minutes outside of Clonakilty called Carrigfadda, which I am closing twice a week at the moment along with getting my steps in during the day,' he said.
Mr Kelleher said The Montenotte Hotel is an 'established player' in the corporate market in Cork city while employing over 170 employees – both full-time and part-time in the hotel.
'When it comes to generating local employment for the city and the county, we are a huge employer,' he said.
