LINCOLN —After wins over South Dakota State and DePaul this week, the Nebraska volleyball team remained No. 1 in Monday's AVCA Top 25 poll, earning 54 of the 63 first-place votes. Pitt, which received nine first-place votes, was ranked No. 2. Kentucky, Stanford and Louisville rounded out the top five, with Wisconsin ranked No. 6. For the rest of the Big Ten, Penn State was ranked No. 12, Minnesota No. 13, Purdue No. 14, USC No. 16, Indiana No. 21 and Oregon No. 24. Creighton dropped five spots to No. 15 after losing at home to Tulsa in five sets Sunday. Nebraska's Sunday match against Missouri at Wrigley Field was suspended because of poor court conditions. Nebraska (4-0) will host New Mexico on Thursday in its first match of the season in Lincoln following the remodeling of the Bob Devaney Sports Center. The Huskers will also host No. 20 Baylor on Friday and Georgia Tech on Saturday.
