Who is Danny León? Olympian who just stunned world with an eclipse skateboard trick Solar olympic skateboarder Danny León has captured the world's attention after perfectly timing a breathtaking mid-air stunt against Wednesday's total solar eclipse. The moment is referred to as 'trick of a lifetime.' Danny León was born on December 1, 1994, in Móstoles, Spain. The 31-year-old is known as 'El Alquimista del Skate' (The Skate Alchemist) and 'León de Móstoles' (Lion of Móstoles). He has been skating professionally since 2017. He first competed in the Olympics at Tokyo 2020, finishing 9th in the Men's Park event. He also skated at Paris 2024, proving he is one of Spain's skateboarders. On August 12, 2026, as the first total solar eclipse in over a century swept across Spain, León traveled to a rural hillside with a quarterpipe perfectly aligned with the sun. At the exact moment of totality, he did a flawless stalefish air against the eclipsed sun. The footage went viral within hours, amassing over 5.5 million likes on social media. This is not the first time León did such a stunt. In April 2025, he was photographed against a glowing sunset. Three months ago, he shared a similar image with a full moon backdrop, jokingly calling himself an astronaut left behind by NASA.
