LAHORE - The Punjab Home Department has issued special guidelines for the celebration of Eid Milad-un-Nabi across the province, directing authorities to ensure that the occasion is observed with religious devotion, respect and due dignity. According to a spokesperson for the Punjab Home Department, sabeels will be established along the routes of major Eid Milad-un-Nabi processions across the province. Prominent buildings, banks and government and private offices will also be illuminated with green electric lights as part of the celebrations. The department has directed all public and private schools across Punjab to hold Milad gatherings on Tuesday, August 25, corresponding to 11 Rabi-ul-Awwal. A Seerat-un-Nabi symposium will also be organised to highlight the teachings and life of the Holy Prophet. The Home Department further directed that sweets be distributed among prisoners in Punjab's jails in connection with the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet. The guidelines emphasised promoting peace, tolerance and unity among citizens during the celebrations. The department directed authorities to ensure strict implementation of all security instructions issued for Eid Milad-un-Nabi to ensure the best possible security arrangements. In this regard, letters have been issued to all deputy commissioners and district police officers across Punjab, directing them to ensure compliance with the instructions.
