Uganda Clays Limited (UCL) share price jumped 9.09% to close at sh8.40, up from an opening price of sh7.70 per share in Monday's trading session.
The jump follows last week's half-year earnings report
where
the clay products maker bounced back into profitability, posting a net profit of sh3.05b for the six months ended June 30, 2026.
The counter recorded the highest activity on the bourse during the day, with 1,211,688 shares changing hands at sh8.4 each, translating into a turnover of about sh10.2m. According to data from Crested Capital, bids stood at 218,000 shares.
During the session, MTN Shed price closed at sh435, from an opening price of sh435.01. The telecom counter traded 44,750 shares, generating a turnover of about sh19.5m.
Stanbic Holdings held steady at sh101, unchanged from its opening price. A total of 202,340 shares traded, worth about sh20.4m
. Umeme
also closed flat at sh63. The counter traded 15,900 shares, for a turnover of about sh1m.
The rest of the market, including Airtel Uganda, BATU, Bank of Baroda, DFCU, National Insurance Corporation (NIC), New Vision Printing and Publishing Company (NVL) and Quality Chemicals Industries Limited (QCIL), recorded no deals, though bid and offer activity persisted across several of these counters.
