Mirza Asif Jarral champions Kashmir advocacy, humanitarian Relief

ISLAMABAD, Sep 25 (APP):President of the Jammu & Kashmir Democratic Forum France, Mirza Asif Jarral, has made advocacy for the rights of the Kashmiri people a central focus of his public life, while also supporting humanitarian initiatives for vulnerable communities in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). Based in Paris, Jarral has raised Kashmir-related human rights concerns at international conferences and on various platforms, seeking greater international attention to the issues facing Kashmiris, said a press release. His humanitarian efforts include support for the Kashmir Orphan Relief Trust (KORT), a UK-registered charity established in the aftermath of the devastating 2005 earthquake in AJK. KORT works to provide orphaned children with housing, education, healthcare and other essential support. On 22 May 2026, the Shahnawaz Venue in Paris hosted KORT's first fundraising event in the French capital. Jarral was among the Paris-based volunteers involved in organising the event, alongside Imran Butt, Mustaq and their team. The event highlighted KORT's work in orphan welfare, education, housing, water and sanitation, Ramazan food distributions and other humanitarian projects. The organisation's ongoing KORT Hospital project in Jatlaan, AJK, which aims to provide free healthcare, was also presented to attendees. Jarral has also supported efforts to expand awareness and fundraising for KORT among Kashmiri and Pakistani communities in France and elsewhere in Europe. Through his advocacy and humanitarian activities, Jarral has sought to connect international awareness of Kashmir with practical support for vulnerable people, particularly orphaned children and families in need of healthcare and basic services.
