Seth Walder Predicts Eight Touchdowns This Season for Breakout Rams Player?

The Los Angeles Rams have a star-studded roster in 2026, with Aaron Donald, Myles Garrett and Trent McDuffie among the latest additions. In a Super Bowl-or-bust campaign, the team could add one more star from within: tight end Terrance Ferguson. Ferguson had a limited sample size as a rookie in 2025, with 11 catches for 231 yards and three touchdowns, a team-best 21 yards per catch among Rams tight ends. Still, he flashed enough promise to carry into the offseason. That flash of promise is why his route tree has grown beyond a vertical threat. Ferguson could emerge as the third-most productive pass catcher in Sean McVay's offense, behind Puka Nacua and Davante Adams. 'Tight end Terrance Ferguson will catch eight touchdown passes. I'm buying the hype here because it just makes too much sense,' ESPN's Seth Welder wrote as his bold prediction for the Rams in 2026. 'The Rams need a third pass catcher behind Nacua and Adams, and with a year of experience in the league after being a 2025 second-round pick, Ferguson could emerge as that guy. If either of those two receivers misses time, his ceiling could be even higher.' Los Angeles has a crowded tight end room in Colby Parkinson, Tyler Higbee and Max Klare, but Ferguson, the former second-round pick out of Oregon, has the most upside to shape the Rams' passing attack in 2026. McVay has echoed that outlook, praising Ferguson's camp growth and saying the tight end refined his game to become a complete, versatile weapon in Year 2. 'I think the consistency of how he's shown up in the production and really all phases,' said McVay. 'Whether that's asking to be used in protection, in the run game or as a pass receiver. He can play all over the formation. I think he's a lot more comfortable. I've loved what he's done so far.' If Nacua tops 1,000 yards again as the Rams' top receiver and Adams keeps producing as the NFL's best No. 2, more production from Ferguson at No. 3 would make the offense even scarier.
