USDA Daily Grain Bids Report for September 8, 2026
The USDA Agricultural Marketing Service released its daily state grain bids report for September 8, 2026, covering multiple regions. According to the report, the Kansas grain report for September 4, 2026, was final, and no Kansas report was published on September 7 due to the federal holiday. In Kansas, terminal elevator bids for ordinary protein wheat were quoted at a basis of -35 cents per bushel, unchanged, with a price of $7.6725 per bushel, down 13.25 cents from the previous session. The average year-ago price was $4.5025.
The Illinois report, dated September 4, showed Chicago terminal bids for ordinary protein wheat ranging from -30 to -5 cents basis, with prices between $7.04 and $7.29 per bushel, down 20.25 to 7 cents. The average year-ago price was $4.6675. Central Illinois country elevator average prices were $5.01 per bushel for corn and $12.99 per bushel for soybeans.
In Louisiana and Texas Gulf export bids for September 8, US #2 yellow corn was quoted at a basis of 66 to 91 cents over, unchanged, with prices from $6.00 to $6.25 per bushel, down 2.75 cents. US #1 soybeans were bid at 102 to 103 cents over, unchanged, with prices from $14.1450 to $14.1550 per bushel, up 2.75 cents.
The Portland report for September 8 noted that according to the Portland Merchant's Exchange, there were 11 grain vessels in Columbia River ports on Friday, with four docked. Pacific port bids for US #1 club white wheat were $6.80 to $7.30 per bushel, unchanged, while hard red winter wheat bids varied by protein, with prices up 7.75 cents across most protein levels.
Indiana and Ohio reports, both dated September 4, showed corn and soybean bids with declines. In Indiana, Ohio River barge loading elevators quoted corn at $5.9675 per bushel, down 4 cents, and soybeans at various prices down about 20 cents. In Ohio, country elevator corn bids ranged from $4.9675 to $5.0175 per bushel, down 4 cents, with terminal elevator bids at Toledo ranging from $5.1175 to $5.2175, also down 4 cents.
Futures settlements as of September 4, 2026, showed CBOT corn at $5.12 per bushel for September delivery, soybeans at $12.9375 for September, and wheat at $7.16 for September. KCBT wheat settled at $7.8675 for September, and MGE wheat at $7.20 for September.
