Perez Hilton's family has shared an encouraging update on his recovery, three months after the celebrity blogger was hospitalised following a serious mental health crisis. In a statement published on his website on November 3, the family said they were grateful to report positive progress while acknowledging that his recovery would require continued care and patience. Hilton, 48, was hospitalised on August 4 after a concerning TikTok livestream prompted calls to authorities. Miami-Dade police confirmed at the time that officers had responded to reports of an individual livestreaming acts of self-harm. Hilton subsequently underwent surgery after suffering significant blood loss. Following his hospital stay, he moved into an inpatient treatment facility. In October, he began a partial hospitalisation programme, known as PHP, while living in supportive housing. His family confirmed that he would continue receiving mental health treatment and support. One encouraging development has been his opportunity to spend time with his loved ones. According to the latest statement, Hilton has been able to attend approved family visits, including an evening celebrating his mother's 73rd birthday with his three children. The family also reflected on what they had learned during the experience, explaining that recovery from a serious mental health crisis can take considerable time. They acknowledged that reaching the end of an initial emergency does not mean the recovery process is complete, and stressed that there is no fixed timeline. Although Hilton's representatives have not confirmed when he might return home, the family said they were hopeful that the day was getting closer. They emphasised that his health and continued progress remain their priority. The statement also offered an update on his children, saying they were doing well, keeping up with school and activities, and enjoying Halloween. Hilton's family thanked supporters for their messages and compassion, adding that their continued encouragement meant a great deal during this difficult period
