Noreen Niazi, sister of incarcerated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, is in stable condition after being shifted from Kot Lakhpat jail to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) due to high blood pressure, hospital sources said.
According to the sources, Noreen did not suffer a heart-related problem, and her medical test results were normal. Her electrocardiogram (ECG) and troponin tests, which help assess potential heart muscle damage, also returned normal results.
Hospital sources said she was expected to be discharged within six hours and had been prescribed medication to manage her condition.
Imran Khan's sisters remain in detention
Noreen, Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan have been detained since September under the Punjab Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance, 1960, on orders issued by the Lahore deputy commissioner.
Their initial 30-day detention was extended on October 7, according to reports submitted to the Lahore High Court.
The sisters were detained as the PTI prepared for a planned protest march towards Islamabad. Their continued detention and access to family members and lawyers have been the subject of legal proceedings.
