HURDLAND — A Queen City man was seriously injured Monday afternoon after being ejected from his SUV during a crash in Knox County. The single-vehicle crash occurred around 3:35 p.m. on Route A, approximately 8 miles south of Hurdland, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol incident report. Authorities said a 28-year-old man from Queen City was driving a northbound 1999 Toyota 4Runner when the vehicle crossed the center line and traveled off the left side of the roadway, ejecting the driver. The driver was not wearing a safety device at the time of the crash. He sustained serious injuries and was transported by Air Evac to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment. The Toyota 4Runner was considered a total loss and was towed from the scene by Hunter's Body Shop. The Missouri Highway Patrol investigated the accident, with assistance from the Knox County Sheriff's Office, Knox County EMS, and the Novelty Fire Department.
