Harbour Hotels, the UK luxury hospitality group, has bought Brooks Guesthouse Bristol, showing its commitment to the high-end accommodation sector in the UK. Harbor Hotels' acquisition marks an important step in their Bristol development strategy, giving the guesthouse a full refurbishment with eventual connection with Harbour Hotel Bristol. The group is looking to expand their city offerings by keeping Brooks Guesthouse's unique charm and using their own luxury hospitality services.
Located beside the historic St Nicholas Markets and just a short distance from Harbour Hotel Bristol, Brooks Guesthouse Bristol will continue to welcome guests under its existing name while undergoing a major refurbishment programme. The renovation project is scheduled for completion in February 2027 and will introduce upgraded accommodation, refreshed interiors and enhanced guest spaces.
The redevelopment will include the addition of three new bedrooms, a complete transformation of all guest rooms and improvements to the property's courtyard area. Brooks Guesthouse currently features 27 rooms, including its famous four retro rocket caravans, which have become a defining part of the property's identity. These unique accommodation options will be retained as part of the refreshed guest experience.
Following the completion of the refurbishment, the guesthouse rooms will become fully integrated into the Harbour Hotel Bristol operation. The expansion will increase the hotel's overall room inventory to 72 rooms across the two neighbouring properties, creating a larger and more versatile accommodation offering for visitors to Bristol.
The acquisition reflects Harbour Hotels' ongoing focus on developing distinctive properties in sought-after city and coastal locations across the UK. Bristol continues to be a key destination for leisure and business travellers, with its combination of cultural attractions, historic neighbourhoods, independent dining scene and creative industries strengthening its position within the UK hospitality market.
Set in Bristol's vibrant Old Quarter, Brooks Guesthouse offers guests easy access to independent restaurants, cafés, galleries and cultural landmarks. The property's location also allows visitors to enjoy the wider facilities available at Harbour Hotel Bristol, including its spa, restaurant and leisure amenities.
Through the investment and refurbishment programme, Harbour Hotels aims to enhance its Bristol offering while preserving the character and individuality that have made Brooks Guesthouse a recognised name among visitors to the city. The project represents another step in the group's commitment to creating memorable hospitality experiences that combine local charm, contemporary design and premium service.
Mike Warren, CEO of Harbour Hotels, said:'It's never straightforward to extend your footprint in city centre locations and we closely followed this opportunity to bolt on 30 keys to our existing city asset. In terms of Harbour Hotel Bristol's future performance, it's a game changer.'
