2 men accused of threatening Hendry County deputies following August shooting

HENDRY COUNTY, Fla. (WINK) — Two men were arrested on charges of threatening Hendry County deputies following a deputy-involved shooting on South State Road 29, according to the Hendry County Sheriff's Office. The officer-involved shooting occurred on Aug. 29., during a traffic stop. Following the incident, the sheriff's office allegedly began receiving threatening phone calls from a man who identified himself as Calvin Miller, the brother of the deceased. A second man was arrested Friday at around 4 a.m. on charges of threatening the lives of law enforcement officers. Authorities said they received more than 150 calls from Miller. In one call to a road supervisor, Miller allegedly said, "You think you're going to blow my brother away and I'm not going to settle the score?" Miller is accused of threatening to come to the location and shoot everyone, starting with the female staff member who answered the phone, according to the press release. Hendry County detectives, along with FDLE ESU Ron Munoz, began investigating the calls. Detectives identified the caller as 40-year-old Calvin Jerome Miller and located him in El Paso, Texas. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Miller and arrested him on Wednesday afternoon. Miller was charged with Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communications Device in the Commission of a Felony, Aggravated Stalking and False Reports Concerning the Use of a Firearms in a Violent Manner. Hendry County detectives transported Miller back to Florida, where he is being held in the Hendry County Jail. Hendry County detectives were made aware of a Facebook comment allegedly posted by a poster who went by "L.J.Davenport" regarding the officer-involved shooting and the death of 33-year-old Edward Young. Davenport allegedly commented, "Find out the killers name, more than likely he has a social media! Cop will not be charged. They will find a way to justify it. It has to be an eye for an eye….A life for a life. Use the Flock cameras for his address or place most frequent, wife, job kids, school! Hunt like they hunt us," Davenport posted again on Sept. 1, allegedly stating, "AN ITS STILL 'AN FOR AN EYE"…Give out Hi-Fives for their kill". Detectives identified the Facebook user as 48-year-old Larry Jerome Davenport Idlette of Fort Myers. Idlette was arrested and booked into the Lee County Jail, where he will await transport to the Hendry County Jail. Idlette was charged with Written Threat to Kill or do Bodily Injury.
