Panthers reportedly bringing back OLB

The Carolina Panthers may be set to bring back a familiar face. According to Mike Kaye of ESPN, the team plans on signing outside linebacker Jeremiah Moon to their practice squad. The 28-year-old was let go during Carolina's cutdown to their initial 53-man roster back on Aug. 30. Moon, a Hoover, Ala. native and University of Florida product, broke into the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Baltimore Ravens in 2022. He'd log his first regular-season snap in 2023, recording one start over eight outings. After appearing in 13 games with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024, Moon landed in Carolina in October of 2025—signing on to their practice squad. His lone contest as a Panther would come in the Week 9 win over the Green Bay Packers, where he lined up for six snaps on special teams. Moon then spent the rest of the 2025 campaign back in Pittsburgh, as the Steelers signed him off Carolina's practice squad. He returned to the Panthers on Aug. 9.
