THOMASVILLE — Brookwood School seniors and first-grade students officially kicked off one of the campus's most cherished traditions last Thursday morning, unveiling this year's senior and first-grade matches for the Senior Buddy Program. Continuing a tradition that first began in 2003, the Senior Buddy Program pairs each member of the senior class with a first-grade buddy for the duration of the school year. Together, the student buddies will celebrate holidays, cheer each other on at major school milestones, spend time together on the playground, and build lasting cross-grade mentorships and memories. The high-energy morning began on the playground as excited first graders hunted for hidden boxes with pictures of their senior buddies. Once revealed, the pairs shared hugs and immediate connections, launching a year of activities designed to foster senior leadership while giving Brookwood's youngest learners an encouraging, older role model on campus.
