J M Baxi Group has successfully launched an inaugural rail service connecting the Delhi Inland Container Terminal (DICT) with Nhava Sheva, marking a significant step towards strengthening rail-based freight connectivity between the National Capital Region (NCR) and India's premier container gateway. The inaugural train, operated along the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC), carried 90 x 20-foot containers of rice for Emirates Line, on behalf of valued customer CAG Shipping. The new rail service is aimed at developing a regular rail corridor between the NCR region and Nhava Sheva, providing customers with a reliable, efficient and competitive transportation solution for containerised cargo. The initiative further strengthens the integration of rail, port and logistics services, while leveraging the advantages of the Dedicated Freight Corridor to facilitate faster and more dependable cargo movement across one of India's key trade routes. J M Baxi Group said the successful launch represents an important milestone in its efforts to expand integrated logistics solutions and multimodal connectivity, supporting the evolving requirements of India's EXIM trade.
