Week One, Week Two, they are designed to be pre-season blowouts where teams flex their muscle, kick the tires on freshmen, transfers and new coaches as well. Sometimes it is expected like FCS vs FBS, unless you're Charlotte getting toasted by The Citadel. Same with power leagues vs group of leagues both in FBS.
Sure, we saw Western Michigan play Michigan to, and past, the buzzer. Boise State took Oregon to the wire.
But usually, it is show up, work out and they take the check and you get the reps in to be ready for what's next, league play.
How do you handle that? Much like Brian McNight
In his words:
1: You're like a dream come true2: Just wanna be with you3: You're the only one for me4: Repeat steps one through three5: Make you fall in love with meIf ever I believe my work is doneThen I start back at one, yeah, eah-eah

Great song about being in love and wanting to make your partner happen. Now, Felder what the hell does this have to do as a parallel to gimme games?
1: Playing you is a dream come true2: Just wanna beat up on you3: And its plain to see no nameplate is on your jersey4: Beat you until we can put in the threes5: Show the fans that they should believe in meIf ever my team believes the beating is doneThen I'll keep playing the ones
But seriously, here are the 5 things I would focus on going into a game that should be a blowout:
1-Scoring from distance2-3rd Down Efficiency3-Sub Packages4-Special Teams5-Reps, reps, reps
Here is why:
-Scoring from distance, generating explosive plays is a thing you don't get done in practice against notoriously soft scout defense (not a knock on scout D, OCs like to see plays workout not get disrupted, led by no QB touching). This game is one where the defense does want to hit the WRs and the QB. This is a game where the defensive line can pin their ears back and attack you all the way to the ground.
It is about breaking tackles, running and throwing into the void, reading blocks to create long runs and using every inch of the field to generate advantage. If you're in a gimme game and you have to have consistent long drives, you're in for a long, arduous season.
-However, if drives are to be had, make the most of third downs. On offense and defense.
