Fancy pants, golf clubs and supporting Kelowna youth

It's almost time to dress up, tee off and give back at the eighth annual Fancy Pants Golf Tournament in Kelowna. ​Taking place at Sunset Ranch Golf and Country Club on Friday, Sept. 18, this annual event, put on by the Rotary Club of Kelowna Ogopogo, will raise money for the Child and Youth Advocacy Centre (CYAC) and Elevation Outdoors. ​Both organizations help local youth, with CYAC supporting young victims of abuse, while Elevation Outdoors provides free outdoor recreation for children facing barriers. ​'The key word with the Fancy Pants is fun. The tournament is getting back to being a kid, letting loose a little, and enjoying a seriously fun afternoon on the golf course, all while supporting local children and families,' said event organizer Ray Lewis. ​The one-day tournament will feature games and activities throughout the course, plus appearances from special guests, a 50/50 draw, and prizes for the team with the fanciest pants on the course. It will cost ​$225 for 18 holes of golf, a power cart, food and drinks, entry into the reception and a chance at winning $10,000 for a hole-in-one. ​The shotgun kicks off at 1 p.m., and tickets are available through Eventbrite.
