There is going to be rain across most parts of the country today, with Met Éireann forecasting showers for much of next week. This morning will bring a cloudy start with light rain and drizzle over counties in Ulster, Connacht, west Munster and north Leinster. That rain will extend to other areas during the afternoon and evening. Highest temperatures will be between 16 and 22C. Tonight will be 'mild and mainly dry' with a mix of cloudy and clear spells, with temperatures dropping to lows of 12 to 16C. Moving into next week, Monday will be a warm and humid day. The south will get some spells of sunshine while it will be cloudy further north with rain and drizzle. Rain in the northwest will turn heavier on Monday afternoon, spreading across Connacht and Ulster. Areas in west Connacht and north Ulster will experience highs of 17 to 19C, while temperatures will range from 20 to 25C in other areas, warmest in the south. Met Éireann's outlook for the coming days shows conditions will be 'mixed', with drier breaks along with rain and showers. Temperatures will stay around the high teens in the northwest, and the low to mid 20s in the south and east. 'A fair amount of cloud' is forecast for Tuesday, along with scattered showers. Those showers will clear up later in the day as sunny spells arrive, with highs ranging from 16 to 17C in the northwest, to 22 or 23C in the southeast. Showers in the west and northwest will spread across the country on Wednesday, with some expected to be 'heavy or prolonged', and highest temperatures of 16 to 20C. Thursday is expected to be a 'cooler, fresher' day following the recent spell of warm and humid weather. There will be a mix of sunny spells and showers, with highs of 15 to 19C. After a few days of rain and showers, Friday is set to be dry for the most part, and current indications from Met Éireann for next weekend suggest it will stay mainly dry with just a few showers.
