The advice stayed with Erika as she began confronting what had happened. In the bathroom, Charlie's toothbrush and towel were still sitting where he had left them. His belongings had not moved, even though he was gone. The bedroom was even harder. Erika looked at his pillow and wondered how long his scent would remain in the sheets.
