Two brothers killed, sisters injured after Fortuner crashes into them while waiting for bus in Faridabad

The impact threw them several feet away, police said. The driver fled. Akhilesh Maurya and his younger brother Avadhesh Maurya, residents of Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, were taken to BK Civil Hospital in Faridabad, where doctors declared them dead. Their sisters Saroj and Rajkumari sustained injuries and were referred to AIIMS Trauma Centre in Delhi for treatment. Police said one of the sisters is in critical condition. The siblings were on their way to Faridabad to celebrate Rakshabandhan when the accident happened. According to a complaint filed by their relative Nanhe, a resident of Kharagpur village in Amethi, Akhilesh and Avadhesh lived in Chhota Bans, Bhati Khurd, Delhi, and worked at a farmhouse. During the investigation, police recovered the car's number plate. The complaint states that the vehicle was being driven at high speed and negligently. Police are using the recovered number plate to trace the vehicle and identify its owner and driver. CCTV footage from cameras installed near the accident site is also being examined. A case has been registered under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death due to negligence) of BNS, and police are investigating the circumstances leading to the collision and the subsequent escape of the driver.
