Impressive Juvenile Winner for TAPIT

TAPIT's juvenile daughter Lucky Bernadine showed the Kentucky Downs track was to her liking on Monday when she won a Maiden Special Weight by 3 ½ lengths. Squeezed at the start of the one-mile turf race, she rebounded quickly to settle into midpack for the backstretch run. Jockey Flavien Prat bided his time on the filly and angled her out as they turned into the stretch to set her up for a big run late. Making an eye-catching move with just over a furlong left to run, she took command soon after and easily drew away with only one horse within five lengths of her at the line. Trained by Brad Cox for Epic Horses, the Kamden Ridge-bred was making her second start after finishing fourth on debut at Ellis. Lucky Bernadine is a half-sister to the stakes performing Tiernanogue with the runners the first two foals out of stakes placed Spritz. Spritz has an exciting sibling as a three-quarter sister to champion Judy the Beauty and one of nine winners out of Holy Blitz. That mare has also seen her daughters and granddaughters produce runners such as the stakes winning Itsallabouttheride and Grade 3-placed Magic Bubbles. This was the second impressive winner of the weekend at Kentucky Downs for TAPIT after his daughter May Day Ready won the One Dreamer S. on Sunday.
