Dear Editor:
I recently had the honor of driving Charlotte Nutt around the Boothbay peninsula with specific focus on Southport to canvass for the upcoming election, and she has roundly earned my vote as a state representative to follow Holly Stover.
Charlotte is young and brings a fresh mind, incredible energy, and a deep dedication to the best interests of our community. Growing up in Edgecomb and spending summers on Southport—where her father became a familiar fixture in the boatbuilding business—she has deep roots here. At almost every door on which we knocked, we found someone who either has known her father or Charlotte personally.
Long before entering this race, Charlotte was hard at work for our towns. With a background in data science and planning, she helps local municipalities build resilience through practical housing solutions, workable transportation, economic development, and environmental sustainability. She understands the issues that directly impact our neighbors, including healthcare reform, reproductive freedom, and supporting our working waterfronts, artisans, chefs and other locally based industries.
As part of a generation that recognizes the urgency of caring for our planet, Charlotte will also prioritize the bolstering of our critical infrastructure, initiatives that support storm recovery, and the reduction of greenhouse gases.
Charlotte Nutt is energetic, highly motivated, and truly understands the needs of our peninsula. She has been endorsed by Holly Stover and I encourage my neighbors to join me in supporting her campaign.
