NEW YORK, New York - Tech stocks surged on Monday with a renewed rush for AI stocks, sending the Nasdaq Composite to a record close. Oil prices fell on prospects of a deal between the U.S. and Iran following President Trump's indication that he may meet with Iranian PresidentMasoud Pezeshkian at this week's United Nations General Assembly in New York. The NASDAQ Composite was the standout performer, closing at 27,122.09, up 599.55 points or 2.26 percent, a record high. One notable decliner was the NYSE American Composite Index, which fell to 8,424.49, down 177.87 points or 2.07 percent.
