JUI-F decries alleged ‘unofficial ban' on leaders' TV appearances

ISLAMABAD - Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Aslam Ghauri has expressed concern over what he described as an 'unofficial ban' on the participation of the party's leaders in television programmes. In a statement, Mr Ghauri said JUI-F leaders had always presented their views in a dignified manner, backed by arguments and within the bounds of the Constitution and law. He questioned how political and democratic affairs could progress if dialogue and debate themselves were restricted. The JUI-F spokesperson expressed particular concern over what he said were restrictions on Senator Kamran Murtaza, Hafiz Hamdullah and himself appearing on television channels.
