Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal has said that construction work on the Polyclinic Phase-II project in Islamabad is progressing rapidly. The project is being completed at an estimated cost of Rs16 billion and will be completed by March 23, 2026, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday. Speaking to the media at the Polyclinic Phase-II site, Mustafa Kamal said the project was initially estimated to cost Rs9 billion. However, the cost increased to Rs16 billion following the addition of 100 more beds. The federal health minister said Polyclinic Phase-II would be a 400-bed hospital equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities. He said work on the project was progressing according to schedule, with a major portion of the construction already completed. Mustafa Kamal said orders had been placed for the medical equipment and devices required for the hospital. Several consignments had already arrived, while additional equipment was also on its way. He said the prime minister had taken special interest in the project and constituted a team to oversee its completion. There were now no obstacles related to funding or any other matter, he added. The Polyclinic Phase-II project is being completed with the cooperation of a Chinese company.
