Prince William, Kate face strict security protocol as travel plans underway
Prince William and Princess Catherine are reportedly preparing for their first international tour together since 2022 disaster.
While Kensington Palace is yet to confirm that the Prince and Princess of Wales will be heading to India in November for the Earthshot Prize ceremony, there is a growing anticipating to see Catherine at the event.
It is likely that the announcement is not yet made as there are strict protocols that royals, especially the senior working members, have to follow when it comes to air travel.
According to a former cabin crew member, who was on a flight during one of the trips, shared that there is one strict ban that is placed on the royal travel.
Since William and Kate are staunch advocates of reducing the carbon footprint and protecting the planet, they often take commercial flights rather than private jets for their international travels. Helena Ford, former British Airways cabin crew member, revealed that royals cannot fly in First Class.
'I think there is a thing in place where they can't fly in the highest cabin,' she said on a recent podcast interview. 'So, if there's a First Class, they have to sit in business, and if there isn't a first class, they have to sit in Traveller Plus.'
However, she noted that when William and Catherine were in business class, the other seats were all occupied by the members of their security team.
'When we had Will and Kate, it was in business because we had a first, but the whole of business was security, but they were dressed as normal people so you wouldn't know.'
