New Insecticide, New Delivery System

A new formulation of Force combined with a new central delivery insecticide system will help growers more efficiently control corn rootworm while no-tilling corn next spring. New Insecticide Formulation Syngenta Crop Protection's newly registered Force CS soil-applied insecticide is designed to deliver superior control of corn rootworms and early-season pests in an advanced, convenient liquid formulation. While company officials maintain that soil-applied insecticides currently on the market lack the ideal combination of performance and convenience, they indicate that Force CS applied at a 6- to 10-ounce use rate will deliver both with a fully integrated delivery system manufactured by John Deere. 'Force CS offers superior control of corn rootworms versus competitive products in both full-field and refuge acres,' says Caydee Savinelli, Force technical brand manager at Syngenta. 'It is the premier product for control of early-season pests such as white grub, wireworm and cutworm. Through Deere's central insecticide system, growers will be able to apply Force CS to their corn acres as needed because the system is fully integrated with the planter.' Rob Rippchen says Deere's new central fill, closed-handling system allows the operator to efficiently and accurately apply insecticide at planting time while decreasing potential insecticide exposure to the operator.
