It is a great day for Slovenia, and by extension, also a great day for electric vehicle giant Tesla (TSLA). One more country has approved Full Self-Driving (FSD) (Supervised), and one more market is available for Tesla to reach. Investors were very pleased with the potential for more sales, and sent Tesla shares up nearly 4% in Tuesday afternoon's trading. Tesla stock has seen a 2.05% rally in its share price over the past year.
Coming Soon to Slovenia!
Slovenia is the sixth country in the European Union to approve FSD, noted a report from Not a Tesla App. It is also the first country in two months to approve the platform for use on its own roads, and the approval means an actual launch is to follow later on. The report suggested that Slovenia was using a 'type approval' that originally came from the Dutch vehicle authority. Several other countries put that same type approval to work, including Estonia, Lithuania, Belgium, and Denmark. Tesla also put out its Summer Update for FSD vehicles, which should help keep the current interest going.
The Aarhus Run
Speaking of Denmark, video of a FSD-active Tesla taking on some of the most narrow, crowded streets in Aarhus recently emerged from Inside EVs. Aarhus roads are well-known for being crowded with pedestrians and bicyclists, and also for being surprisingly narrow.
But the video also showed the Tesla navigating these streets like a pro, although a very cautious one. The vehicle proceeded at an extremely slow speed, and periodically hesitated in the process. It failed to use a turn indicator at one obstacle, and also stopped a bit far from a traffic light. But these are comparatively minor mistakes, more errors of courtesy than, say, driving through an active railroad crossing.
Is Tesla a Buy, Hold or Sell?
Turning to Wall Street, analysts have a Moderate Buy consensus rating on TSLA stock based on 11 Buys, 13 Holds, and three Sells assigned in the past three months, as indicated by the graphic below. The average TSLA price target of $377.08 per share implies 2.51% upside potential.
