Award winning Tralee writer and filmmaker, Seanie Sugrue, is back with his brand new feature film and judging by the teaser synopsis and the trailer, it promises to be a great watch!
Fresh off his Ballybunion Backs Bill play making its LA debut back in March of this year, Seanie has been busy putting the final touches to his new feature film, STICKY, which he has been working on as writer and director for the past few years.
Describing the film as a 'love letter to Hollywood, albeit a spiteful one', Seanie told The Kerryman that the film is both a tribute and a critique of the city that shaped it.
'It follows several artists in LA each navigating through rejection in their own way, some in far more deranged fashion than others,' he said.

The film, Seanie revealed, is about Hollywood being in a panic as another LA serial killer lurks in the Hills. Four people have gone missing in the last week, but a couple of dysfunctional artists think they know who the killer is...
The film was shot entirely in within Los Angeles County with Seanie and his team very proud of the fact that every frame captures authentic LA streets and neighbourhoods, from the beach to the desert, something that Seanie described as 'a rarity in modern filmmaking.'
This commitment to shooting locally, Seanie said, reinforces the film's thematic core: a story born from, set in, and visually shaped by the real Los Angeles.

Described as having a satirical edge, a suspense-driven plot, the film's cast boasts a number of instantly recognisable faces.
The ensemble includes Johnny Whitworth (Empire Records, Limitless, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance), Vanessa Angel (Kingpin, Weird Science) Jake Weber (Dawn of the Dead, Medium, Homeland), Drew Powell (Gotham, The Pitt), Niko Nicotera (The Odyssey, Sons of Anarchy, The Purge: Anarchy, Matlock and Mayor of Kingstown season 4) Adam Hagenbuch (Fuller House, The Perks of Being a Wallflower) and Damian O'Hare (Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Hell On Wheels).

In addition, although STICKY is set deep in the heart of Los Angeles, the film's creative DNA carries a distinctly Irish influence. Writer/Director Seanie Sugrue is from Tralee, and cast members Damian O'Hare (Roddy), John Keating (Sticky), Phil Burke (Joey) all hail from Ireland.
STICKY premieres on Amazon Prime and Apple TV in the US & Canada on October 25 and will be coming to Ireland and the rest of Europe early in 2027.
