Hospital Road to close at US 31 in Franklin Wednesday

The intersection of Hospital Road and U.S. 31 is expected to close on Wednesday for a little more than two weeks. Milestone Contractors plans to close Hospital Road at U.S. 31 at the intersection only on Wednesday. This closure only involves the approach to Hospital Road at U.S. 31. Traffic on Hospital Road will not be able to access U.S. 31, but will have access to homes and businesses to the west through alternate routes. Traffic from U.S. 31 will not be able to access Hospital Road directly, according to a Facebook post from the city of Franklin. The closure is part of the ongoing construction in Phase 3 of the U.S. 31 corridor improvement project. It is necessary to remove existing pavement on Hospital Road, construct new sub-base, install new concrete curb and gutter, and re-pave this portion of Hospital Road, the post says. Weather permitting, the work is anticipated to be completed by Sept. 25.
