EXCLUSIVE: Veuve Clicquot Swaps the Polo Field for Venice Beach

Veuve Clicquot is trading polo for the Venice Beach boardwalk this fall. The Champagne house's usual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in Los Angeles will not take place this year, as it didn't last year. Instead, the brand is introducing Club Solaire, a three-day experience running Oct. 2 to 4 in Venice Beach centered on food, music and community. More from WWD Veuve Clicquot has previously brought its Solaire concept to L.A. with the Solaire Culture Exhibition on Rodeo Drive in 2022, a temporary exhibition celebrating the house's 250th anniversary and the legacy of Madame Clicquot. In Venice, Calif., held at 619 Ocean Front Walk, Club Solaire will feature six ticketed experiences created by We Are Ona, the creative culinary group, with participants including Michelin-starred chef Jordan Kahn, Folderol founder Jessica Yang, Only the Wild Ones founder Heather Tierney, Don't Let Disco founder Ashley Moubayed, photographer Sela Shiloni and James Beard Award-nominated chef Fátima Juárez. Programming ranges from breakfasts and a chef-led shared table to a four-course sunset dinner, jewelry-making workshop and party. Beyond the ticketed events, the Venice Beach boardwalk will host public activations for guests 21 and older, including a Regarding Her Champagne Bar and Folderol ice cream pop-up. "Over the years, we've had the opportunity to create some amazing moments across Los Angeles that celebrate creativity, discovery and the sunny side of life, from the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic at Will Rogers State Park to the Solaire Culture Exhibition on Rodeo Drive," said Adriana Angulo, U.S. head of marketing for Veuve Clicquot, in a statement to WWD. "Club Solaire marks an exciting new chapter for us, bringing that same spirit of connection to one of the city's most dynamic communities, while giving back to the place that makes it so special." The event will support Regarding Her, which helps women-owned businesses in food and beverage, and the Los Angeles Parks Foundation, which raises funds for projects and programs across L.A. parks. "Venice Beach is my home so it has a special place in my heart. Venice has always been a place where music, food, design and community naturally intersect, so Club Solaire in Venice Beach felt like a very organic fit for the neighborhood," said Tierney in a statement.
